Yet it remains poorly botanized with majority of the flora poorly studied, while the Orchidaceae constitute the least studied family in this area. Here, Rhipidoglossum polydactylum is reported for the first time in Nigeria. Holothrix aphylla, a rare plant which was last collected in Nigeria some 57 years ago, is also reported. The conservation status of these plants is discussed. Both plants were collected in a National Park that has not been spared from advancing anthropogenic change that is becoming a persistent problem globally. These species will contribute to our knowledge of the plant biodiversity of Nigeria.
