Bryology and Lichenology Carr, Mariah [1], Quedensley, Taylor [1]. Bryophyte Flora of Northwestern Missouri. Between May 2015 and May 2016, we surveyed the bryophyte taxa at three State Parks and 11 Conservation Areas in Northwest Missouri. Preliminary results are indicative of a rich bryophyte flora in a relatively understudied region of our State. We collected over 400 specimens and have identified over 60 species, including 44 new county records, and one new state record, Brachytheciastrum velutinum (Hedw.) Ignatov & Huttunen. These results coupled with information of the lichen-forming fungi that are present at these sites will be used to promote conservation efforts in this region based on bryophyte and lichen community assemblages.
