An educational poster of the Vascular Plants Tree of Life.

In the last 20 years increased molecular data has led to many changes in the plant classification system leading to confusion about familial circumscriptions. The Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (APG) has provided a stable phylogenetic framework at the order and family level and is now widely accepted but morphological characters associated with some families and clades are still poorly known. The higher level classification of gymnosperms, lycopods and ferns are also becoming increasingly stable and accepted. However, visually attractive and educational representations showing relationships of the total vascular plant Tree of Life have been elusive. Here we present an exciting new educational aid for showing relationships and characters for the 85 orders and 452 families of vascular plant.
