Plant Research and Conservation on the Andes

Segovia, Claudia [1], Gonzalez, Lauren [2], Uribe-Convers, Simon [3].

Plant Research and Conservation on the Andes.

The symposium of Plant Research and Conservation on the Andes will analyze the role of Plant Biologists in the understanding of plant distribution from different perspectives (ecology, systematics, reproductive biology, biogeography) but also in the process of conservation and management of high Andean Flora. The objective of this symposium is to concentrate researchers in different areas of expertise to share new findings, techniques and methodologies but at the same time looking for multidisciplinary approaches to support plant conservation and management in the Andes.
This symposium will be a great opportunity to generate a bridge between Andean native young researchers and experienced researchers in the Andes. These future connections could provide an integrated effort for plant research in the Andes.
